Pissy id say she is pure evil i honestly dont know what i have done to deserve a snake like this. She is still hissing from Tuesday night when Linda and George came over. My cat is close to having kittens and he is a Boy.
lol. shes obviously nervous. if it helps just put a glove on and get it out with that once its out and in hand it will be fine. if you pic it up with ya hand flat, it wil find it hard to bite ya. try it!
Nervous i think she could be but i dont understand why as she was fine at first. Even when she is out she is the same I suppose if at first you dont suceed try try again!
glad youve got her dave shes in good hands and im sure you will sort her out some people simply have better luck with them than others so finger crossed for her
She certainly looks nervous but not nasty. I have two, now two year old boas I imported from the USA last Dec and although they are still a bit jumpy on occasions, they are getting better as each day goes, but when I first got them were very, very nervous indeed, always bitey, and strikey. I spent a lot of time trying different things people had told me, the obvious ones being, changing set ups, even wearing latex gloves as some people believe it works as they dont like biting latex, to making sure my hands had just been washed and covered in F10 hand gel to prevent any kinda of scent from being picked up by the boas. I even contacted the breeder I bought them from, and their advice is what I eventually took, handling is the only way if everything else is in order for her as far as her setup goes. It will eventually sink in that handling wont hurt her and she will in time trust people to pick her up and enjoy being taken out of her setup to experience new surroundings.
Letting Dave spend time with her will work, but constant handling by you is the only way to get her over this, even wearing gloves if you are nervous about being bitten, wear them and just let her chill out with you, trust me she will stop hissing and eventually start tongue flicking as she investigates her surroundings. Its all about confidence by both parties.
Thought id send a little update on the Angelic Angel that i call Medusa.
She is still a crazied snake and hates me i swear. She has now gone from nipping to drawing blood. Im still trying to handle her with 2 i may repeat 2 pairs of gloves. She continues to hiss all through the night and mostly until the next morning.
