I am a new member registered today and thank you for setting up this forum.
My wife tells me I am far to old (40) to keep snakes but I love this hobby.
I have a breading pair of Brazillian Rainbow Boas and anoher female that is catching them up in size.
I keep them in a 9ft Vivarium with lots of hides, full of moss and are fed very well.
It was bites and strikes that introduced me to this website. I am lucky that their shop is only a few miles from where I live. They are great for help and advice and I am always looking for an excuse to pop in and see the new stock. It was Bites n Strikes that I also purchased the younger female from recently.
Hopefully one day, it will be me selling baby BRB's !!!!
I have also posted a picture of the male and will try and get some more pictures together soon.

As Lin rightly points out, I am over 40 (actually nearer 50 than 40!!) and I only got my first snake on my birthday last year. That Tony he's a good salesman.
I now have two and my daughter also has one. So you're not too old to keep snakes.
What I have actually done, it put a 4ft Viv on top of a 5ft and then make a big hole between them. The snakes then move easily between the two. The best thing is that I can vary temperature, use of moss in different places for variety etc.
In the day they generally like it in the top and at night explore the bottom area. It is also good as I can control the snakes access to each oher when feeding or when she is gravid.
The male is a whopper and a good 6ft with amazing colours and very easy to handle. He also has a really thick girth. Interestingly, he is a very gentle eater; always eats, but you have to leave the food next to him to think about for a few hours.
The female is smaller and thinner, about 5ft. I try not to handle her as much, simply because I do not want her stressed. She is a very agressive eater, striking every time and is on 2 mice a week as I build her up for breeding.
We had a disaster with her this year, she was pregnant and the temperature went really high in the Viv by accident (and that will not happen again !) and she lost the brood. Was gutted and looking forward to trying again the end of this year when I lower the temperature and reduce daylight hours. Was going to start in October and then raise it again a few month later to induce breeding.
I am rather proud of the pair I have and probably spend for too long with them but they are very interesting. I am hoping they breed and I have a good batch next year.
They had has a brood 2 years ago (1 bought them last year) so all should be fine as long as the temperature does not get messed up; assuming that was the reason for failure.
Both are shedding at the moment and when finished with take pictures.
Are you local to me ? I am close to Bites n Strikes in Bexleyheath
