Hehe yeah... I always called the Thai bamboo ratsnakes but saw everyone else was calling them red mountain ratsnakes so I pmed some one that kept them and got this back.
The Bamboo Ratsnake or Red Mountain Racer is a catch all common name for all the subspecies of oreocryptophis porphyraceus ... because thats what it's scientific name translates out to ... Oreo (Mountain) ophis ( snake) porphy (red) raceaus (racer). Many snakes have multiple common names which can be confusing, it's always best to know there scientific name and refer to that when first talking about a species. The Thai Red Mountain Ratsnake ( Oreocryptophis porphyraceus coxi)
Thanks again for the nice comments everyone. I picked them up from a person thats username on forums is hogboy. I met him at waterloo train station to pick them up. None or very little people in the UK producing them so all that are available come from EU (most the time they buy them at HAMM show) or they are WC. This snake is best left to its self and not handled. They strike at everything that moves and I'm told they dont calm down as they mature and they can go if food if handled a lot.
Shame they cant be handled much but certainly got great colours. So when they are ready take it you will let them reproduce which should amybe if handled right become tamer than the parents/

I will breed them for sure :D I think even handling from hatchlings doesn't help calm them down 100% but can have a little effect.
Hehe no problem. I will be taking some more photos of the female this week end to measure her.... I will post some more photos in a couple of weeks so you lot dont get bored of them :)
Lol lizardlover. :D I tried to take some photos of the female yesterday to measure on a program and she was striking as every thing lol so I put her back.
Thanks reptilekid, I'm still new with my camera so I try my best to get good photos :D
