Hi & thanks for all the nice comments. She is around 8ft long and feeds solely on rats(rabbits are not an ideal diet for boa's,and if fed often can cause fatty liver problems)
I have a fair few snakes, some of which could be considered rare or even very rare in uk collections, but this plain old common boa has been my favourite since day one!lol Go figure

mmm boas my favourite, excellent and great to see other peoples

nice wink she is one lovely looking lady, i just love that little square she has on her tail, she has also a really clean pattern to her.

The garden shots really bring her beauty out, especially the head shot.

thanks mate.........keep them coming!!

Have fun...................Lindasmile

No,she was not my 1st snake by a long way,in fact I had been keeping snakes nearly 15 years when I got her.She is now around 5 years old,and with any luck should be breeding her too a salmon hypo for some purdy babies !

A week? lol she eats 2 jumbo male rats every 2-3 weeks or so,to feed an adult boa weekly would be pointless and eventually harmfull to the snake long term.Slow and steady is always best for 99% of boids in my experience.A few have higher metabolisms,Retics and scrubs for instance, and require more regular feeding

I go by size more than age to be honest when growing a baby boa on.Absolutely keep on feeding weekly until he/she reaches around 4 - 5ft,then move too every 10 days,at 7 ft-ish I move to every 2-3 week feedings alternating between a 2 or 3 week gap. This method has worked well for me over the years, feeding one or two appropriately sized rodents each feeding.
